Thanks for sharing OP, is there any further info about them? I couldn't see any on the link. It would be great if one of these lists addresses male socialisation.

GNCQ · 30/03/2021 16:30

It was shared by a Labour Party MP, that's how I came across it.

I did think it was a bit ironic that they were sharing this after the whole "expell me" thing...
To be honest I don't know much about the group other than, if it's being shared by MPs it's a good thing and might gain traction.

Thanks. Also porn, I'd really like to see something more radical.

A few alarm bells ringing. Everyone wants women to back their causes right now, and the right to demonstrate is the heart of this one. I would bet they wonderful Sisters Uncut have a hand in this one. Am I being too cynical? No, I don't think so

RabbitOfCaerbannog · 30/03/2021 17:09

It raised my suspicions too. The single page without any further context doesn't instil confidence.

There's more than a scent of switch and bait.

No details, no signature without more information about this organisation and who is behind it.

FlatCheese · 30/03/2021 17:18

Not sure who I'd be giving my details to there. Just a single wordpress page with a privacy policy.

Puddycatfan · 30/03/2021 17:25

I've not signed it either, not until I know who they are and what it is they reallywant**

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 30/03/2021 17:35

It's like the difference between Reclaim The Streets and Reclaim These Streets - and the name feels as if it ought to be associated with FWS' Women Won't Wheest initiative but who knows.

What a world when everything, by necessity, has to be scrutinised in this way.

Indeed. I need to know who I am sharing my personal details with before I share them.
theThreeofWeevils · 30/03/2021 17:57

Yeah - nope.

Maybe the OP can enlighten us about the organisation. Meanwhile, I suggest to them that a bit of proof-reading might have given a more professional impression.

GNCQ · 30/03/2021 20:31

I literally know nothing about this group other than it was shared on Twitter by a well known MP.

I wondered if sharing the page here would help their aims which seem to be reasonable on the face of it. No mention of gender and all that.

OP posts:
ArabellaScott · 30/03/2021 22:31

email harvesting, if nothing else! I won't do that with a group I've no knowledge of, this has no information whatsoever.

ArabellaScott · 30/03/2021 22:31

It says 'we' all the way through but no mention of who 'we' is.

ArabellaScott · 30/03/2021 22:32

Sorry, didn't mean that to sound so blunt, GCNQ. Just wary about these things, sadly.

MissBarbary · 30/03/2021 23:08

It seems to be connected to this.

www.theguardian.com/world/2021/mar/25/women-will-not-be-silenced-on-gender-violence

I'm still not signing it.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 30/03/2021 23:13

Some good names like Kiri Tunks but I've too many misgivings about other signatories - including #BeKind Helena Kennedy.

PopperUppleton · 30/03/2021 23:14

Karen Ingala Smith is a signatory of that letter in the Guardian. But Maxine Peake is very much TWAW

FeckTheMagicDragon · 30/03/2021 23:19

Labour and Green party’s? No thank you, their record on supporting women is now abysmal. How long before ‘women’ only means ‘trans women’?
