This new rule in England is going to affect so many families, especially those with younger children who might not be able to see grandparents, other family members or even friends, yet can be in a class bubble all school day with 29+ children. Scotland and wales have excluded children from under 12, let’s hope England follow suit. Please consider signing the above petition.

Signed.

Where would you draw the line OP? Who would you count as a child?

SaltyAndFresh · 12/09/2020 09:26

Sorry I didn't read your post properly. I won't be signing it because children under 12 can transmit Covid whether we want to believe it or not.

Of course they can transmit Covid, but how is it ok for them to be in school all day with school staff and 29+ other children, or people to go to the pub with 5 other people from different households in an environment with other people they don’t know, yet families can’t visit grandparents or siblings, nephews, nieces and cousins because as joint households your numbers exceed 6 because of young children. Children are going to be confused why they can’t have a play date when they’ve been with their friends in school. Why have Scotland and Wales made the decision to exclude children under 12 from the rule?
