It might happen anyway. Scotland already in the process of bringing them in

Signed. Even if it's not practical for every lesson, it's ridiculous the government isn't mandating their use in corridors when moving between classrooms.

Already signed this one. It was a live poll on the feed on YouGov today too, if anyone's on there and has time to vote

Absolutely don’t agree with this.

Nobody has considered the fact that wearing a cotton mask isn’t risk free. Tiny fibres are going into the respiratory tract. That’s alright when you go round Tesco occasionally, but all day every day is a different matter.

I’d prefer zoom schooling to mask wearing all day for my kids.

Urgh I can't stand wearing a mask for half an hour in the supermarket, imagine having to wear it all day. No thanks. Poor kids.

What do you propose Deaf kids do when they can't lipread and can't hear a conversation properly? What should my teenager do for learning or conversation when she cannot see anyone's mouth? Her life is hard enough without effectively forbidding her entire peer group from communicating with her.

Absolutely not. Scotland are in discussion about pupils wearing them in transit around school grounds/buildings NOT in lessons. Also it won’t be mandatory for Schools to do this nor will it be enforceable by fines.

Oh boy. As a teacher, I just know masks will provide the perfect cover for surreptitious humming or random calling out during lessons, which would be nearly impossible to stop. Rather have temp check on entry.

Does this petition mean even during lessons? If so, I think it’s a bad idea. I could accept mask wearing in school corridors but it’s not at all clear what you are going to do with children who have forgotten or lost their mask.
