I appreciate they may have other things to think about right now, but have you tried your MP?

I have signed though. What a farcical situation to be in. You must be fuming.

Rayagoldensun · 14/04/2020 20:18

Signed. My HA are a chaotic set of incompetent pisstakers too. I feel for you and hope you get somewhere. If you haven’t already, I’m with TerrorWig in contacting your MP, newspapers and CEO of the HA. It’s only by threats of formal complaints that I’ve ever got anything sorted out. You shouldn’t have to resort to threats but sometimes it’s the only thing that stands a chance of getting things resolved. Good luck.

Thank you for signing, I really appreciate it. We've contacted the MP and met with him. The HA booked in the initial part of the survey when they knew we were in touch with the MP then cancelled the second part of the survey after we'd met with him. We've been pretty heavily harassed by the HA which culminated in the police breaking our door down at the flat we are selling as the HA told them there was someone in there about to harm themselves. We hadn't lived there for months and I was having daily phone calls with the HA so they knew we were just fine - just the HA giving the police wrong information to intimidate us. They also called child services after we sent an angry email to their complaints dept which was totally justified after the way we've been treated. Luckily, we've just had our second baby and so we've had recent health visitor visits and she questioned whether they had the right family!! We told child services the context behind the call and they were shocked!! The HA will clearly harass and use pretty shocking levels of intimidation to break us.
We've been in their official complaints process for 10 weeks now and they offered us £180 as compensation for the delays we have experienced.....no apology for the 3 years they say it will take them to produce a survey!!
As you can appreciate, I am at my wits end with it all and then they come after my beautiful family who are my absolute world!

Signed. I have a friend with the same, awful, housing association. Different issues but same attitude. I hope you get them by the balls.

LilyMumsnet · 14/04/2020 21:37

Hi OP,

We're very sorry for what you're going through.

We don't allow petitions on the main talk boards so we're moving this over to the right topic now. Flowers

That is terrible. My son was buying a First floor flat and as the seller cannot produce the correct certificate re the cladding he has had to pull out as cannot get a mortgage. It wasn’t a high rise block either.
It should be law that they are all sorted and certified within a short timescale.

Ronnie27 · 14/04/2020 22:09

I’ve got a friend who can’t sell her flat due to the cladding not being certified. It’s been back and forth between surveyors, solicitors and the building company for over a year now and they’ve missed out on the house they wanted due to the hold up.

Aimeelenthall · 14/04/2020 22:50

Milliways, this is our exact problem. Our block is only 3 storeys high and wooden timber on the top floor only. The HA dragged their feet for months with the promise of getting the information for the buyers surveyor then finally came clean that they wouldnt be doing the survey. They've behaved criminally in my opinion.

Ronnie27 I knew we wouldnt be alone in this nightmare so wanted to put a petition out to gain some momentum on it. We had no choice but to move out before the sale completed due to our new baby. If the housing association had come clean earlier, we could have put some kind of damage limitation in place at least!

Fucking hell that sounds like targeted harassment.

File a Subject Access Request with your council pertaining to any and all information held about you, your property or your family. You need to know if you have a legal case.

Aimeelenthall · 14/04/2020 23:08

TerrorWig thank you, I'll do that. I'm looking into legal aid also.

Signed, hope it helps.

These companies are scammers. I sold a leasehold flat 3 years ago. 6 months after I sold it, it was discovered that it had cladding on. The flats have been impossible to sell ever since.

Had so many problems with Riverside though, I swore I would never have a leasehold again.

JessStu · 28/07/2020 19:22

Ps I've signed your petition.

auntieElle · 28/07/2020 19:23
