What are you going to do with all the private patients that get their treatment there?

SamSeabornforPresident · 19/03/2020 08:02

If it's non essential they can go home like everyone else.

ajandjjmum · 19/03/2020 08:08

The Govt are in talks with private hospitals to use them as the pandemic worsens in the UK - I think there is masses going on behind the scenes, and we clearly can't be kept up to date with every single conversation.

I don't think petitions for additional debate at a time like this is helpful.

Sirzy · 19/03/2020 08:10

Working with them at this point to ensure they are used to the best interest makes sense.

Nationalising it is just bonkers and would take longer to sort and get through Parliament than the crisis point will last

Hagbeth · 19/03/2020 15:55

@SamSeabornforPresident Maybe your not aware that private hospitals like Nuffield treat patients with cancer and other terrible diseases.

Perch · 19/03/2020 15:57

Don’t be silly 🙄

TakeANote · 19/03/2020 15:57

They are already in agreements that the private hospitals will take NHS patients and have agreed the funding. This is already done!

Reginabambina · 19/03/2020 15:58

Please don’t sign this! It’s already really difficult to access decent healthcare in Britain. If they nationalise all the private hospitals it’s going to be impossible. At least this way there are extra beds etc that can be of use. If the private hospitals had been nationalised a long time before CV struck it’s likely that the health care industry would in an even worse position right now. Having alternatives to what the government gives us is very important.

Bloomburger · 19/03/2020 16:17

Oh FFS are people stupid?

The economy is teetering on the edge, where do you propose they get the money to do this? Are you aware of the legal implications? How do they value that sector as a whole?

Private hospitals are actually being mobilised to help, nationalisation is a knee jerk draconian measure that is not needed.

Fantasiaa · 19/03/2020 16:28

Looool

Usernamealreadyexists · 19/03/2020 16:58

Bonkers. The NHS doesn’t have enough funding for the hospitals we do have. I’m pro choice and private healthcare should be open to those who choose to pay for it.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 19/03/2020 17:01

Why is there a need to do that?

has the government tried to get them to cooperate and they have refused?

Can't they just work together? Why do we need to jerk the knee?
