Because of the forthcoming election I have been told - with less than 24hrs notice - that the parliamentary petition I set up to end the IVF postcode lottery will close 3 months early tomorrow (Weds). I am angry and upset; this is NOT democracy. It got up to 7600 signatures and needs 10,000 to force a response from govt. Please help?

Don't be too angry. Petitions end with every parliament and the date for this one has only been properly floated for a week or so.

If it doesn't happen this time them wait, not for the next parliament but the one after. Then ask here again.

I say that as I am pretty sure the next parliament won't last long either!

Will it actually make a difference now?

Because the House has risen for the election, hasn't it? So there simply isn't the time for a debate. And I don't think you can hold business over from one Parliament to the next.

So yes, you'll need to launch it again (once we have a Parliament which looks as if it'll last)
