Fit all schools with solar panels within the next five years

I just signed this UK Government and Parliament petition and thought I'd post it on here.

Making all UK schools zero emissions will be a positive step for the country and this can start by powering education with solar energy. This will allow for progress to make Britain a zero emissions country and meet our targets, whilst also having economic advantages in the long term.

Yes, agree

We might not be able to afford the programme right now (or at least not all at once) but it's the sort of thing there needs to be a commitment to roll out. Ditto for all local authority owned buildings.

Start with it being a compulsory feature of all new builds and something to be added in all renovations. And then fit others on a (probably much slower) rolling programme of specific upgrade

We're just moving this over to our petitions topic now. Flowers

I'm not sure that we can afford not to make significant rapid changes though. Net zero carbon by 2050 will be too late. I think we need to look at the circumstances and respond as if it were a wartime situation.

I think wartime is going a bit too far!

But agree. This is important and a clear duty to make this happen could be a good thing
