Scottish Childcare more risky than English or Welsh!

As a mum to 4 kids this shocked me! I’m calling on all parents, grandparents, anyone regardless of where you live to help change this!!

Not all nurseries or childcare providers in Scotland have trained staff in paediatric first aid on site to deal with immediate life threatening first aid emergencies like choking or asthma attacks.

Infants and children, who need simple first aid treatment, before an ambulance arrives, are being put at risk everyday.

General first aid is not enough as it does not cover cover infant and child specific issues around CPR, asthma, febrile convulsions, recognition of meningitis and more. England and Wales already recognise this, sadly because children have died in situations where a trained paediatric first aider may have made a difference.

The Scottish government is working towards doubling the amount of free childcare hours for parents of young children in Scotland. More children will be put at risk for longer, unless this change is made.

Please help me by taking just a couple of minutes to sign the petition below and share on Facebook and Twitter if you feel able to. I really want to get the numbers on this up in order to be able to get the Scottish government to take a bit more notice! I need parent power! Smile

Thank you, Sarah xx
