Hi. I have been using Blanche Heriot for over 10 years. They are brilliant. After years of misdiagnosis by GPs they diagnosed and helped me treat and manage a chronic and painful condition which was previously making it very hard to manage my work and home life. They provide STI testing, and have walk in clinics which are essential for people suffering from symptoms/pain.
Without this service STIs will rise. Local GPs are not equipped to deal with the complexities that Blanch Heriot specialises in diagnosing and treating. As a patient currently undergoing treatment the closure is making me anxious about managing my condition in the future, many other people who have signed the petition are similarly concerned.
I know the NHS faces cuts across the board, but I suspect those making the decisions consider sexual health not important enough to warrant saving or that users of these services will be to embarrassed to fight for them. Please sign if you think this is important.
