To ask you to sign this petition

to get this man's bravery recognised

he was incredibly brave. However it is not IMO for the residents of other countries to petition the government of france to grant him citizenship. I hope that he is granted citizenship in France, but on the basis I don't believe that I as a British citizen should have the right to demand/question/request who is and is not granted citizenship elsewhere I won't be signing it.

Have the police issued a statement to say they assumed he was a terrorist because he's black.... Or is that it made up to make a story have more impact?

I am not a French citizen. I don't think it would be appropriate and I doubt if the French Govt. would pay the blindest notice if I did.

Sorry I won't be signing for the above reasons.

The French Interior Minister has already said he will be given citizenship

I thought he was being given citizenship as well.
