... hasn't got an apostrophe? It is driving me crazy! I'm texting friends and am that they think I can't punctuate contractions properly.

Ok, not that most of them bother in texts themselves. But really, etc...

(Actually, if anyone knows where my missing apostrophe might be, the phone is a Samsung S8300. And yes, I have read the manual! )

YANBU!
What is the world coming to?

I like to use correct punctuation in text messages too.

have you tried pressing and holding the key at the bottom right? (hash key on mine) Mine is a Samsung and it comes up with another menu if I do this.
Can also get one if I press the 1 key several times to cycle through the letters before getting to the punctuation.

Does this help?

Have to say that I have found some phones much better than others, whether for apostrophe or a simple "return" (to start next sentence on a new "line").

Have had a number of different phones (currently have Siemens, Nokia, Alcatel and Motorola) and from the late 90s the Nokia 8310 (as seen in one of the Terminator films at the start) has met my immediate needs, and the newer Nokia models I have tried (budget end of the phone market) are still offering easy access to punctuation.

Some others don't seem to have considered anything other than txt spk (yuk) and to insert "symbols" it can take a sequence of keys to get insert and then down to symbols (a chore).

Means I will probably stick with Nokia for expensive models in future (as well as the cheaper ones!)
