I've read this on MN three times in the last week and it's driving me mad!

It's 'tout de suite'!!!!! It's French for 'immediately'. Toot sweet, on the other hand, is completely meaningless.

its not meaningless. It is a sweet that you whistle, a whistle you eat.

It's still meaningless when used in the context of 'I need it done, toot sweet'. Like saying 'Get the washing up done, peardrop' or 'Finish your homework, strawberry lace'
