It took me some time to realise that what I had thought were typing errors are some kind of fashionable mis-spellings.
I originally came over from another site because I couldn't abide the spelling and text speak.

I must be too old for this.

Hate text speak in posts. I am too old and refuse to text even on my phone.

I just do not read texted posts. Simples.

venusonarockbun · 02/04/2010 16:38

I am sure the use of brought instead of bought must also be a fashionable mis-spelling too as it happens so often. It just cannot be possible that so many people get this wrong.

Joolyjoolyjoo · 02/04/2010 16:38

Gosh, my bad typing turns out to be fashionable

inthesticks · 02/04/2010 16:39

No I don't read those posts because usually more than one contributor does the text thing.
I text in normal English.
With apostrophes.

I share your pain inthesticks.

Textspeak makes me shudder (and judge) too.

As I have said before (dusts off soapbox) I don't like poor spelling or swear words in posts either. So lazy.

I should of thot a miniscule bit of practise could of bought an improvement in thier spelling and grammer .

'taggingt he firstl etter of the nextw ord on liket his'

You mean they do that on purpose? Ffs. what next!

whittywan · 11/04/2010 22:11

I hate, hate, hate "should/would of", zapostrophe. My English teacher at school would not abide it and it has rubbed off.
