Is a group my... DH's cousin's daughter just joined on FB. Now, I know it's grammatically pants but I want to make sure my 'correction' is correct, otherwise I shall look a fool Some clever can you correct this for me? (not posting my correction as it's probably wrong and I will be shamed forever)

What an odd group! Anyway, this is how I would type it:

Maccy Ds and KFCs make the fatties go, "yes please!"

Diclaimer: I am not a proper pedant

Yes, that is what I got. I wil wait for a few more posts though, because I will lose all street cred if someone corrects my correction Though would the comma be there, after 'go'? And I might drop that exclaimation mark, as my correction will look like a declaration of my love of fast food (as a ...plus size lady myself )

Maccy Ds and KFCs make the fatties say "yes please!"

That's how I'd write it (if I were that way inclined).

Perhaps I was wrong to put that comma in (not sure).

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 24/03/2010 17:27

Hmmm... I dictionary.com-ed the "go" changed to say, as I can see 'go' doesn't seem right, but if "the gun goes bang", surely then the fatties can "go "yes please" " ?
