Please join me in applying common sense and logic to the nonsensical adverts currently on TV/the web.

I'll start:

(1) With Persil you can wash on cold (15 degrees) - and yet my washing machine doesn't go that cold AND washing that cold does not kill the bacteria which make your clothes wash. I've just had to scrub out my mouldy washing machine after a year of washing at 40. What do you think the effect of washing on 15 would be? I think pond life may well develop!

(2) I am an IAMs cat and only need one bowl of Iams but up to four of these pouches. Well duh! Dry cat food has water removed - if you rehydrated it, you would find it doubled in weight at least. So for 100 grams of Iams dry food is the same as four pouches in terms of food weight. So what is the point? That it's less 'icky'? Well say that damn it!

Wash at 15 degrees? Does the washing machine actually COOL the water down on hot days then?

If it does, surely that cooling would use energy - just like heating it up would?

No it draws from the cold tap if you have that sort of machine. About 2% of washing machines do this. It's just bad science
