"Far from the maddening crowd" [their quotation marks]

Dear oh dear oh dear. Common mistake perhaps, but I would have thought estate agents would have some time on their hands to check quotes before they print them as bold headlines. It was in quite a posh village, so I expect they've already had plenty of old ladies telling them off (e.g. my MIL).

tis deliberate surely?

You would have to know the quote/book to get it wrong.

ellingwoman · 14/04/2009 21:25

Do you mean estate agent's?

flimflammum · 14/04/2009 21:26

deliberate? hmmm.

ellingwoman: depends how many estate agents there are, doesn't it?

flimflammum · 14/04/2009 21:32

Slime? Ha
No, I mean an office with three estate agents working in it.

Oh alright - you win!

I thought I had you there!

ellingwoman · 14/04/2009 21:48

Damn!

flimflammum · 14/04/2009 22:34

Actually, you had me doubting myself!

'alright' is alright, but I assume 'incase' is a typo.

I expect estate agents' familiarity with Hardy extends about as far as knowing what ridiculous prices they can get away with in "Casterbridge" and "Christminster".

(Yes, I know it's Gray originally.)

we made mistake once. saw lovely house on website called and booked appt. it was lovely white cottage with old trees and big back garden etc.. instantly fell in love. it said in excluded area of A village. but it was right by the main road next to the uni and primary school parking. ws big disappointment, so these days we like huse we go and drive around see what its like from outside

myredcardigan · 15/04/2009 00:17
