Argh - I may end up breaking my TV!

This is my first post in pedants' corner, so I'm extremely nervous about making a mistake!

Does the BBC iPlayer ad annoy anyone else? The woman always says 'Missed the last episode? Catch up on iPlayer.' I always end up yelling 'previous' at the TV, because 'last' could mean either previous, or the last episode of the series!

On Masterchef tonight they said that the final was 'literally' a matter of life and death. Surely it wasn't that final!
