'Have you got?' ,'Yes I do'-please tell me this is wrong!

I keep correcting my dd1 on this type of thing,for eg i will ask 'Have you got your PE kit?' and she answers 'Yes I do'.I'm fairly certain this is gramatically incorrect and she has picked it up from american tv shows.Am I right,or is it acceptable?

Well, I think you're right, but it's not one that would bother me TBH (Specially if she said yes, and was polite!)

"Have you got...?" - "Yes, I have"
"Do you have...?" - "Yes, I do"

I would have posted the same as Amumin- clearly wrong.

It would bother me though, i'm awful for that.

It is a grammatically incorrect response BUT I would not consider "Have you got" to be very good style.

"Have you your PE kit?" - "Yes, I have."
"Do you have your PE kit?" - "Yes, I do."
