This is a new one on me! Seen on a post as a relative being 'a hare's breath from death'.

I think you’re referring to my post.
I originally wrote hair’s breadth but it auto corrected to hare’s breath. I didn’t realise until I’d posted and I was quite surprised but figured I’d got it wrong all these years!
This place is brutal!

That's beautiful.
It makes a hair's breadth sound big and solid in comparison.

PleasantPedant · 23/02/2026 14:06

Why would autocorrect change hair’s breadth?

Don’t know but it did 🤷🏻‍♀️
Why does autocorrect change anything to what it thinks it should be?!

Mine doesn't but if I enter something in the search engine it decides that I typed something quite different.

And then they died.

I appear to have something in my eye.

My favourite one ever was in a job interview I was conducting. The candidate described the culture at his previous firm as a “doggy dog world”. I had to work extremely hard to remain composed 😂

My recent favourite is that some things are so expensive they cost an arm in a leg. It's no wonder someone said they'd had anuff.

They need a win fall.

Seen on here.

I have seen only today 'pa for the course.'

I presume Dad doesn't mind being invoked and the writer knows absolutely nothing about golf.
