What are your thoughts on seeing this sign?

I’m ruminating on the existential purpose of a gate.

I would assume the gate is to be kept closed when not actually using it.
Perhaps it should have said Please close the gate after use.

Clearly it's a misdescribed fence.

Yeah, the gate identifies as a fence so you must keep it closed so as not to upset it.

That was the sign that has been replaced by this one. It was routinely ignored.

Apart from whether the gate needs to be there or not, the layout of the sign is what I find odd.
The text in different colours, different font sizes, different letter spacing and use of bold is bizarre.

My thoughts are that I would like it to say: Please remember to close the gate. We don't want the rhinoceroses out on the rampage again, do we?

I don't know the plural of rhinoceros so it might have been better to think of 'wolves' or 'boars'.

Farm gate and animals. Fairly standard.
The issue is truck drivers leaving the site and not stopping returning and closing the gate.
If walking by and see it open, please close the gate.

That sort of sign always mildly amuses me.
Why not just ‘please close immediately after use’?
