I’ve just seen one such - ‘reindeers’.

And sooner or later there are bound to be a few elf’s on shelf’s, too.

Any more, O fellow pedants?

I expect to see at least one sign advertising Christmas Tree’s.

DelectableMe · 14/10/2024 12:44

The inevitable "loose" weight before Christmas.
I genuinely think most people don't understand there's actually such a word as "lose".

Advent colanders

Chewbecca · 14/10/2024 19:35

I have a doormat, that DH brings out every year, stating Seasons Greeting’s. He claims he bought it ironically but I am not so sure.

Have you seen this year Sainsbury’s are selling a decoration saying Babies First Christmas? Ouch.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 14/10/2024 19:49

There's a trickle treat thread running currently. Some people saying it's clearly a typo, but I have heard enough people call it that to doubt that it is.

Reminds me of getting what looked like an expensive card when our daughter was baptised, Congratulations on You're Babys Christening, from a friend who taught English.

She's never been allowed to forget it and she's never sent her OH out to buy a card again!

Or another one is "I had a wonder around the shops", No, you had a wander around the shops.

Advent colanders

Is this an advent calendar where every day you get a new colander?

You might be on to something there...

A Christmas card we received last year (not for us, for people who used to live here) had a very emotive hand-written verse inside which made reference to Baby Jesus in his manager. Oh er.

Inevitably I wondered if there were any 'Reigndeer' on MN, as one does...

Advanced search shows that there are indeed, but also revealed this really is a seasonal bugbear of yours, OPGrin

There will, no doubt, be people planning things for “New Year’s”, without specifying Eve, Day or anything else.

Jellifer · 28/11/2024 18:34

Already seeing FB ads for Christmas door reefs here 😂

moonshinepoursthroughmywindow · 01/12/2024 22:11

So glad you mentioned "reindeers." I feel like I see this more often than not now, and I was almost beginning to wonder if the rules had changed and I was the one in the wrong.

Santa Claws. Does he?
