Whilst paying for my shopping at the self serve checkouts in a well known supermarket I noticed some homemade signs that said 'This machine does not except coupons or vouchers'.

I just couldn't let it go by and asked to see the manager and explained that the signs were wrong and did they think they could replace with the correct word!
He just looked at me rather blankly

I shall be returning in a few days to see if they have been changed!

The parents of my previous dp lived in a street that was spelled with two m's on the sign at one end and one m on the sign at the other, and I've recently noticed that the office where many of my colleagues works also has 2 separate signs with different spellings on each: how confusing/sloppy can you get?!?

Since posting on MN, I've read the "Hard Hat" warning on building sites in a new way.....'soo..where's the popcorn??'

Janni - loving the idea of a curtsey bus - very polite!

I stayed in a B&B once which had a sign saying:'please find cot for babies in wardrobe.'

I'm afraid I couldn't find any babies in the wardrobe, so put DS in the cot instead. Did I do wrong?

I sat in a meeting yesterday looking at my boss's agenda which he'd written the word curtious twice - on a word-processed document . I know he was in a hurry.... but......!!

This made the headlines near where I live.

Bossy and Pan: I also smile at heavy plants crossing (thud!) and alarmed doors (Eek!!). Great thread

Another one which always makes me smile (most inappropriately) is when you hear old ladies/men talking about their dear departed,

"Ooooh we lost me mother last year..."

Really? How careless of you where .....in Sainsburys?
