Brightening peoples' days

I've just come across this in a work context - it's wrong, isn't it? It should be brightening people's days as people is a collective noun and therefore singular, whereas 'peoples' is the collective noun for larger groups of people, ie races (the peoples of Asia/the world). I'm second-guessing myself though so opinions welcome!

You are correct.

You're definitely correct. Men's, women's, children's, people's. They're already plural so the apostrophe comes before the possessive 's'.

Unless it's brightening the day of peoples, as in multiple nations or tribes.

iklboo · 02/05/2022 15:06

Very true don.

MaChienEstUnDick · 02/05/2022 17:21

Thanks @donquixotedelamancha it's definitely not multiple nations or tribes, that's why I was second-guessing myself though as it's not always wrong - but it is wrong in this context.

I really didn't think it was but this is pedant's corner, after all.
