I've just come across this in a work context - it's wrong, isn't it? It should be brightening people's days as people is a collective noun and therefore singular, whereas 'peoples' is the collective noun for larger groups of people, ie races (the peoples of Asia/the world). I'm second-guessing myself though so opinions welcome!
