I've never heard someone talk like that

is it a regional thing?

OhGiveUsAPruniPudding · 17/12/2007 21:02

What it is, is that people are doing it by analogy with sentences like this perhaps?

NoChatroomAtTheInn · 17/12/2007 21:10

Yes, I think that's right Pruni. It annoys me very much.

I also dislike, 'What is was, was ...'. Grrr!

MrsBumblebee · 18/12/2007 09:48

Also, 'the reason being, is that...'. As if 'being' is an adjective. Annoys the hell out of me.

deckthehallswithgeekymummy · 24/12/2007 23:51

reminds me of the song, "I Can't Take My Eyes Of Off You". Grrr!

coby · 24/12/2007 23:59

don't mind it spoken so much but when people start to write like that too argghhhhh

themoon66 · 25/12/2007 00:20

Agree about the OFF-OF song..

Mandalin · 27/12/2007 03:06

No, yeah...

Yeah , no...

Mandalin · 27/12/2007 03:07

I think it's actually, "I can't take my eyes off of you.."

geekymummy · 07/01/2008 20:54

oops! Twas a typo, I stand corrected

RoxyNotFoxy · 08/01/2008 00:45

If you're going to start a sentence with "What it is.." then you've got no choice but to add another "is".
