as I'm cr*p at it....which is why I never post in this board usually.

Basically want to do a (very short) flyer/note thing for parents at the school gates offering my ironing service. The basic stuff is this.

They can drop off their ironing when they collect their child from school/drop them off in the morning (I live next to the school you see). And collect it the following day (so stuff dropped off in the morning would be collected following morning, stuff in the afternoon the following afternoon). however I'm also going to offer a "same day" thing so they can drop off ironing and children at 9am, and collect both at 3.15.

Prices for this would be £1 per lb for 24hr, and £1.50 per lb for "same day" (obviously they can drop off/collect earlier or later if it's better for them - but same prices would apply.

Need to get that information into just a few lines.........preferably before 3pm today as I want to hand some things out when I pick DS1 up from school.

Thank you in advance

Ironing serice: same day collection available. Drop off your ironing at 9am and pick it up at 3:15 on the same day or the following morning.

Rates: £1 per lb for next day collection; £1.50 per lb for same-day service.

EffiePerine · 20/11/2007 14:38

actually same day prob not hyphenated

TheQueenOfQuotes · 20/11/2007 14:41

ooo thanks EP - that's great - and sounds so much more professional than anything that I could come up with (not that I can really call myself a professional - but you know what I mean LOL).

No suggestions re wording that info, but just wanted to say that I recently had a flyer through my letterbox for ironing. It was on shiny paper that had been scrunched up, and it said something like 'Are your clothes as creased as this paper...?'

It was catchy, and if I'd been thinking of paying for ironing it would probably have got me interested enough to contact them.

Just a thought! Good luck.

it sounds a bargain . Where are you based?

TheQueenOfQuotes · 20/11/2007 14:49

well.......I copied and pasted what you'd written into my open Word Document and I wasn't going to mention the spelling error that Word immediately flagged up

I'm in Wellingborough (Northants). I can't really offer a proper collection/delivery service as I don't drive...but I do live directly next to the school, where most of the parents drive to pick up and drop their children off so I figured if I start off with them (as they park right outside my house anyway) I will hopefully have more success

damn, too far

scattercushion · 20/11/2007 15:18

Maybe jazz up the beginning bit with something like: "Bored of ironing? Let me do it. Just drop it off at mine when you drop the kids off at school - I'm next door!"

TheQueenOfQuotes · 20/11/2007 15:33

damn - great idea there scatter - but I'd already printed some off and handed a few out when I picked DS1 up.....mind you didn't give too many out as it was freezing and pouring with rain - and I was getting cold and wet
