Gary Barlow's Jubilee song

Am I right about this? Gary Barlow's Jubilee song, called Sing, starts like this:
"Some words they can't be spoken, only sang."

Shouldn't it be 'sung'?

Now, I believe the lyrics were written with 'sung' but the little girl who sings the first line sounds very much like she says 'sang'.

I wouldn't mind, only in my DS's Parents' Assembly this morning, all the children sang along to it and had learnt all the words, and were all singing "can't be spoken, only sang". I could hear their teacher singing along too and saying this.

Apart from it being wrong, it also gets rid of the half-rhyme in the next line with 'love'.

I thought they sang 'sung'

Thought was 'sung' too- was in DDs school's rendition.

I think it's her accent- the words I printed off the website said "sung". My pupils sing it correctly (am big on correct grammar!)

It's the:

"Sing it louder sing it clearer
Sing so every one can hear yer"
line that gets me.
