East Meets West party - what do we wear please?

One of us (DH or I) is supposed to wear something Eastern, the other something Western. I really don't want to buy something specially for this, I just want to wear something nice! How can we stick to the theme without going all-out for fancy dress? DH is unlikely to agree to wear anything other than what he feels like wearing on the night, so I think the onus is going to be on me!

Have you got a silk top/dress or similar for the Eastern. that you can put with black trousers. Tie hair up in bun. (if long enough) with pencils sticking out of it.

And then western, stick him in a check shirt and jeans.

DH doesn't have a checked shirt but I may just leave him to his own devices anyway!
