I'm usually pretty useless with parties and just let my daughters entertain their friends but next Saturday I really want to impress my youngest daughter. I'm also using this as prep for my eldest daughter's Holy Communion party in 3wks time!
So, apart from pass the parcel, musical statues/bumps, pinata and the Tommy Smarty (which sounds brilliant!!) will that do??!
I was thinking of doing a few racing games up and down the garden. Also, any helpful ideas on food - I like to cook my own stuff and will make the birthday cake - blimey I actually sound quite impressive - but I really am not!! Your top 3 ideas for parties would be just wonderful. Thanks x

Foodwise, these always go down an absolute treat:

Domino biscuits - use any biscuit pastry, the point is to have all the domino numbers add up to your kid's age.

Jelly Boats - I never bother with the sails

Corn on the cob

Easiest game on earth - blow up a ton of cheap balloons and let them all go mental with them. Kids think it's hilarious.

My top 3 ideas for parties are:

  1. Pass the parcel and general party games like pin the tail on the donkey
  2. Organise a treasure hunt in the garden - creates fun and excitement.
  3. Craft activities for some quiet time.

Try these Treasure hunt party kits

Blind Man's Buff

blindfold one person and they chase around until they have caught someone, then they feel their face and hair until they guess who it is

disclaimer, have never actually played this one but plan it for ds's 7th

Communion present ideas?
It is my DD's communion next weekend and guests are starting to ask what to buy her. There are only so many prayer books an 8yr old can have! So, what should I suggest they give her? Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thx
