6th birthday present - for my daughter - HELP!

I feel so rubbish that I can' think of anything to get her.

She wants a DS - but has possibly forgotten about this now, and it was probably peer pressure, and I'm not keen on the idea - expense and not generally my cup of tea.

It was going to be piano lessons but the only teacher nearby wants to wait until the summer.

Her favourite Xmas present was actually a recorder and a 1st book - she is very musical.

I don't really want to spend more than £50 tops and I don't really believe in buying tonnes of presents - though could do a few smaller things.

She is no help as when I ask her she doesn't know. I suspect she can't tell me as its a big decision to make and she wants something really special, but doesn't know what.

Help please.

What about a ukelele & tutor book that she can work through heself? You should be able to get a decent one for under £50.

CD of children's songs (Hello children everywhere is great).

New recorder book.

A trip to the theatre to see a musical.

Ha, a ukelele! Thats a completely bonkers and also fabulous idea! Totally out there. Bit of internet searching on that I think.

Ooh and a musical - thats a very good one. Though might have to look for deals they get pretty expensive don't they?
