Hi, After trawling Hardens and Top Table, have come to where I should have started really for some help!

Need to book a restaurant for lunch on a Monday in April for 7 of us - 4 proper grown ups, one 20 yo, one 18 yo and dd (10).

Preferably central London. Don't mind spending a bit but not silly money - was thinking the fixed price lunches at some of the really nice restaurants, or something else, with a bit of spark, nice surroundings. Preferably not a Gordon Ramsay restaurant as my db has an aversion to him for no other reason than he is a Rangers supporter

Help please - Inspiration is lacking tonight!

It's not fine dining but The Chicago Ribshack reopened a couple of years ago, still great fun atmosphere.

The Georgian Restaurant in Harrods does a fixed price Carvery lunch which is fun because you have the table as a base for the whole afternoon, I love a quick shop in between courses.

I'm showing my age but Langans still has a great feel to it and has a prixe fixe lunch.

Butlers Wharf has the Chop House which Men seem to adore for the traditional British experience.

I love Scotts in Mayfair, same owners as J Sheekey. Great website to check menus etc first.

Now I'm starving!!!

We had lunch at Bibendum after we got married in London. It was very nice - good atmosphere, quite posh, but not stuffy. Dd (15 months at the time) was served a plate of beautifully presented veg, which she threw on the floor.

Or also I love Quaglinos!

Oooh yes - some lovely places on Butler's Wharf. Cantina del Ponte is there too and also lovely - I always wanted to go to the Chop House as Alouiseg suggested.

Tell us where you decide on!

Belated thank you for all your ideas - didn't manage to get near computer yesterday! Will have a look at all of these, and let you know what I decide - any more options gratefully received also!

The River Cafe would be my top choice, but it is £££££££££££££.......

I also love Racine (knightsbridge, here, J Sheekey (west end, here, and Bentleys here, off Picadilly.

All quite special. Good for a big birthday event.

Square meal website v useful for a browse too.....
