We had a couple of lego racers parties.

DH built a wooden ramp. I bought lots of wheels, steering wheels and minifigs on ebay, and the boys built and raced their own cars down the ramp.
Also did guess the number of lego bricks in a jar, pass the parcel with lego prize, etc.

loads of ideas here

My sister had a great lego party for her son on the weekend. Through a number of games, the kids had to collect pieces of lego that would make them a lego car. They firstly had to pop balloons to find lego pieces inside. They then played lego bingo (they had a bingo board with photos of lego on it, and then had to pick a piece of lego from a bag and got to keep it if it was on their board). They were also given a bowl and a straw, and had to pick pieces of lego from a pile by sucking through a straw - the kids loved this!!! The kids then spent time constructing their cars, before racing them down a ramp. She served lego biscuits, legoman marshmallow pops and a lego brick icecream cake. You will find photos of her ideas and some of the templates for invitations and straw decorations at her blog www.mypartyfile.com. She'll be adding other ideas over the next couple of days, so I think you might find some useful stuff there. Good luck

i can't get menthe's and jackies' links. shame.

Strange, oblomov. Are you, maybe, not in the UK? My link was to the main lego website, which defaulted to a uk version, so maybe you have a version local to you, where you could find it. Though having just had a search for other sites where you could see it, it looks as though it might not work very well - sorry .

Oblomov · 13/01/2010 14:53

JackieNo · 13/01/2010 14:59

Oh, how strange then that the link didn't work.

I have just recently done a lego party for my son in dec (8yrs).

1st game was to build lego racing cars to then race down a ramp we made out of a slide !!!
treasure hunt finding the clues, each clue had a lego piece when put together formed the answer to where the treasure was burried.
Made a treasure box and filled it with chocolate coins and lego pirate stuff.

pick up lego with chopsticks, weigh, winner gets lego stationary.

guess how many bricks in jar

decorated the house with blue, red, yellow green streamers and the table was decorated with hellium ballons in lego colours
I made lego pots to put on table.
invites hand made red card with lego images from website.

blue party bags with lego font for names.
Lego keyrings, lego colour page then the prizes from games.

I made a lego cake which went down very well

I found loads of lego stuff from amazon and lego.com

google lego party ideas in images
