Keep an eye out in the sales.
I got some individual Polly Pockets last year in the sale in sainsburys for 74p
I noticed Sainsburys had some Littlest Pet Shop characters at half price when I was int here yesterday, think they were £1.25 each.
Monsoon / Accessorise have good stuff at this time of year too.
Also Boots have got lots of stuff half price at the moment too.

Have you considered buying a pack of books here works out at to be about a 65p each. Wrap them up in colouful tissue paper. Thats what I did and the mums really appreciated not having another bit of plastic toot to take home!

Bubbles or books.

Baker Ross good for craft kits.
Do an ebay search for party bag gifts.
In the past have picked up children's themed socks, flannels and gloves for party bags in the sales for £1 or less - as jolly says better than a load of tat.
Bath bombs etc go down well with little girls.
If you're struggling to source a large quantity of things all the same, yiu could have a lucky dip on the way out instead.

I once put those mini jars of jam (the sort you get in coffee shops - enough for two slices of toast) in ds's party bags as an afterthought because they were incredibly cheap at a pound shop and it amused me. That was 5 years ago, and people still remember them!

Jars of jam = genius!

Packets of seeds.

DS got some last year and grew some fantastic sunflowers.

Brilliant ideas, thank you. Am especially liking the idea of jars of jam and seeds, but books also brilliant. Shall go hunting tomorrow. Many thanks.
