Salsa party for 14 year olds?

My dd would like a party for her 14th birthday. everyone is having discos, but she doesn't really enjoy them (I actually secretly think not many of them do!) so I was thinking we could hire a hall (school hall available, lovely and cheap!) then get a salsa teacher (tons of them locally) to come and give them a lesson. Then a nice buffet supper and home. Does that sound the sort of thing your 14 year old might like? A lot of her friends dance (although not salsa) so there'll be a core group to get things going!

Sounds like a good idea to me.
My DSis is a belly dancing tutor and she has done parties for this sort of age group in the past - taught them all a routine etc. and it went down very well.

Kbear did this for her 10 year old last year and it was a great success. My DD, however, was 13 at the time and her and her mate, who was invited, were a bit and embarrassed! That may have been largely because me and Kbear do salsa and it was our teacher, so it may have been us that was embarrassing!

Personally, I think it's a fab idea, if your DD and her mates are up for it!
