CountessDracula · 08/09/2009 22:44

nintendogs

TimothyTigerTuppennyTail · 08/09/2009 22:46

MarioKart, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario 64 are DS's favourites (spot the theme!). Tetris is good as well.

mooseloose · 08/09/2009 23:08

nintendogs is lovely. My 7 year old started with that. madagaskar. What about the cooking with mama - i know a lot of stirring goes on with it! My boys all love Mario. And pokemon!

sazm · 08/09/2009 23:21

mariokart is fab thats what we bought our ds for his 5th b'day,
he also loves madagascar and super mario bros
you could of course buy an R4 card and download games

mooseloose · 09/09/2009 20:30

Did you know the dsi wont take the downloaded games?

gemmiegoatlegs · 09/09/2009 20:31

cooking mama, ben 10, mario kart,

gemmiegoatlegs · 09/09/2009 20:32

oh sorry, just reread the o.p

scratch the ben 10. there are kids maths ones and even languge games for kids.

Lilyloo · 09/09/2009 20:33

mario kart and lego games

Tidey · 09/09/2009 20:35

I think you can get an R4i card now though.

My DS (7) likes the Lego games (Batman, Star Wars and Indiana Jones), all the Mario games, Drawn to Life, Mechanic Master and Henry Hatsworth. I would also recommend games like 42 All Time Classics that have a mixture of card and board games. HTH

Denny185 · 09/09/2009 20:36

brain training, carnival games, scoobie doo, charlottes web, nitendogs, nemo

brimfull · 09/09/2009 20:36

I would second mariokart super mario bros

ds also loves tiger woods golf -but he is really into golf

tony hawks downhill jam skateboarding

mooseloose · 09/09/2009 20:38

I didn't know that Tidey? My boys on about a dsi but there is nothing wrong with their ds's. A friend told me about the games not working. Another friend said she didn't rate the dsi anyway. They aren't having one so i haven't looked into it anyway!

Tidey · 09/09/2009 20:44

I think I read that somewhere anyway mooseloose, but I agree with you, there's no need (as far as I can see) to 'upgrade' to a DSi if there's nothing wrong with their DS / DS Lite. The only selling point seems to be the camera, and I bet any child would soon get bored of that anyway!

littleweed · 09/09/2009 20:47

thanks everyone - think nintendogs might be a good start.
