DD just had a Hannah Montana bday and over the "stage area" we did homemade disco balls - looked great. Just buy isopor balls in a craft shop (we did a bunch of smallish ones), paint with glue and cover with glitter. We did several colours but the silver and hot pink looked best. Then bend a pin into the top for a loop and hang on a string.

Our cratt shop sells them, thanks we will give that a go.
