Ideas for my DS's 3rd birthday party please, thinking rocks, farm, diggers, animals, machines... dont know

I am getting ideas for my DS's 3rd bday party which will be in August. He really loves rocks. He collects rocks constantly and we have piles everywhere. He loves builders, diggers, farmers, tractors, animals. He likes cars, bikes etc, reading.

I did think of a farm theme, and get 5 bales of straw, stacked 2 on top of 3 to make a climbing frame, and hire a donkey or pony but one of my best friends is severely allergic to horse type animals and couldnt come so that is out.

I am open to lots of ideas! What do you think?

How about a Bob the Builder themed cake? or fairy cakes with little BtB rice paper things on them?

Know at 3 my dd was into 'characters' and so I made a Bob the Builder cake which she (and I!) was well impressed with.

As an activity you could get everyone to sit down and paint rocks? Think 3 yr olds like doing stuff but not usually so great at organised games.

Or a building game - collect lots of small cardboard boxes and get everyone to build a tower out of them (if lots of people at party could get 2 teams with adults helping?). Probably end up with some of them knocking the towers down as quick as they're built, but...
