Hi any one got some great ideas for my 3 year old little boys Birthday party please? I thought of maybe a puppet show out in the garden or a picnic in the park but with some sort of activities. I dread these soft play activity centers so want to look for other options before considering the likes of Eddie Cats. Any help/recommendations would be great. I live near Richmond. Thank you in advance!!

For how many? My DS was 3 in October, and the best parties were small gatherings of 5 or so friends in a house/garden eating some food and playing musical bumps, pass the parcel and maybe one other game.

How many kids do you think you'd have? Just done my ds's 4th party at home. 15 3/4/5 year old boys. They played with playdough (made loads of it and put out all playdough toys) for almost an hour, and then I did pass the parcel, musical bumps and a pinata. Then tea and cake. Time went really quickly and they all had lots of fun. I was amazed how good the boys were and how much fun we all had.

If in park, you could do bubbles (bubble machine and pots for the kids perhpas), some running around games, play with parachute (either borrow or you can buy at ELC I think), And if you are near play equipment, they will play on that for ages. At DS's 2nd party we did an egg hunt (birthday near Easter) - and at a friends party at similar age she hid toy animals and then went looking for them (they handed back the toys to swap for sweets!) Could do chocolate coins/ or pretend money if you had a pirate theme? Or a nature trail type thing? Give them 5 things to find (red leaf, flower, etc) and then they win a prize?

Other games they like at this age are Simon Says (think up lots of silly ones to do), and we sang head shoulders knees and toes last week when we had a crowd of kids over and they loved it.

Will be much more fun than soft play and much cheaper too!!!

Am planning a park party for my 3 year old next month. If its a park party u could also have kites which u can give away as favors..so they fly the kite at the party and takem 'em home. Of course weather needs to be apt.

ELC sells this game called Baby Target Pop up..small bean bags are supplied and the children need to aim to throw them into the holes on the pop up..its a lotta fun.

Have a plan B in case it rains, thats where I'm stuck really..

Have fun ..
