My DDs are younger so I don't really know what the world of a seven year old involves. She is quite girly and I think she likes High School Musical... but I don't know her well enough to pick something that's tailored to her.

What would my best bet be? Looking to spend around £10.

Littlest Pet Shop stuff is still really big with DD and her friends.

Also diaries that you can lock and write about who has fallen out with who at school and how Mummy is horrible!

Oh and for some reason gel pens.

There's so much HSM stuff and it's all pretty much geared to a child of that age. There's stacks of stationery stuff in the supermarkets and the toy shops all have huge shelves dedicated to HSM! Can you check with her mum what she already has so you don't duplicate? Alternatively somewhere like Claire's Accessories do HSM stuff and other girly things that always go down well with my girls (DD1 is a little younger, but adores HSM).

I was going to suggest HSM just from the thread title! They have bags, sticker books, allsorts

oh thanks, so it seems I am going down the right path with HSM stuff. Do very much like the locking diary idea, too. One more question if I may- where can I get this stuff tomorrow in a crap market town whose Woolworths has gone? Don't even have Claire's I'm afraid....

Any supermarkets? Sainsburys or Tescos usually have HSM stuff

I have a 7 year old girl and she would love a lockable diary or notebooks/envelopes etc

please no more sparkly pens or stickers!

MrsBoo · 31/03/2009 19:36

I would also say some nice notebooks, pens etc - you could put together your own set in a nice gift bag/box rather than the HSM over-priced stuff.

I was going to suggest a tiara from Clare's - they have som lovely metal ones. One to bear in mind for future ref maybe.

My dd just had her 7th birthday - she got various craft kits & will enjoy all of them I am sure (esp as we have easter coming up).
She also got a lockable diary - theoretically a hit but I suspect it won't be used much as she still finds writing very hard - some of her friends are much better at writing, others worse so I guess it depends.
She also loves doll clothes for Baby Annabel type doll (but of course again depends on child), and anything 'mystery', 'spy' or 'pirate' type theme.
She doesn't do HSM/Hannah Montana etc, and neither do any of her yr 2 friends - it seems to be the yr 3s in the next class who are into that round here.

Just a thought -if you have a branch nearby a £10 voucher for Build-a-Bear would be a really popular choice with DD's friends
