HELP - I've made DD's birthday cake, but what do I need to finish it off?

Hi,

I have made DD's fairy castle birthday cake and am pretty pleased with it so far.
However, I think it needs something to finish it off.
I was thinking of maybe a pile of dolly mixtures on the top, almost like another tier.
Or I could make another smaller, circular tier for the top.

Any ideas would be gratefully received. Her party is tomorrow , so no presssure!

(Pic of cake is on profile)

TIA

Maybe you could use ice cream cones on top, covered with icing/ sugar paste to make turrets. Or the same sort of thing with mini-rolls for little round towers. And then lots of dolly mixtures, jelly diamonds etc.

Or white toblerone for battlements!!

White toblerone for battlements sounds like fab idea (though would make sure that none of the greedy little delightful children got any of that when I chopped it up!)

Careful don't over ice the cake. (Is that the phrase?) I do this all the time. Just one more thing then wreck it.

Take it back it does need something. A princess dolly!

Hooray! I have completed DD's 4th Birthday cake.
I am really pleased with it. Only my second cake using ready roll icing as opposed to buttercream and slapping it on!
Awe and wonderment would be good!

That looks fantastic, my dcs would be totally in awe of me if I could do something like that. My claim to fame with my dcs is rice krispie buns

DD's comment was, 'It hasn't got a door handle'

Wow, thanks!
