Is this okay for a party bag?

Have just made up the party bags for DD's party on Sunday and am not sure if they're a bit 'light' (but I have a distinct tendency to overcater and don't want to go mad...)

It's a Princesses/Pirates party for a 4 yo and all the kids seem to be going through a 'pink is only for girls' type phase so I have reluctantly made gender-specific bags:

Girls
bubbles
Pink 'princess' notebook
fluffy pencil
sparkly ring
water pistol
Disney Princess crayons
loveheart sweeties
bag of buttons
box of raisins

Boys
bubbles
mini colouring book
3D car-shaped eraser
plastic parachutist
water pistol
chocolate money
bag of buttons
box of raisins

Is that enough? It sounds a lot typed out but it doesn't look much, iyswim...

There will also be a slice of cake in there and a helium balloon at the end of the party...

More sweets? Help....

sounds like a lot of stuff to me. They only ever really want the cake and sweets IME!

lilolilmanchester · 26/02/2009 18:06

I think it's more than enough, they sound lovely and you definitely don't sound like a crap party organiser.

very nicely done and to be honest it sounds like quite a lot. But have to say my DD would be mugging some poor boy and "swapping"..

I can't be doing with all that 'is it enough' crap and trawling around to fing tat to put in so I just buy one nice thing and hand them out with a piece of cake

It sounds plenty, honestly.
Make sure you do a few extra just in case though as some boy/girl is bound to be in tears wanting the other type of bag!

Sounds loads to me! I'd have swapped the parachutist for crayons though as the boys have a colouring book but nothing to colour with!

MrsMattie · 26/02/2009 18:18

Sounds like loads! Really nice.

I usually do two mini gifts, sweets, a slice of cake & a balloon to take away.

Thanks

The colouring books are the 'magic' ones where you paint over them with water, so no crayons required (I had a load left over from last year's party bags so decided to recycle!)

I know what you mean, pagwatch on quality vs. quantity, but I know DD loves getting loads of tut little things in party bags, so I was working on that principle. The local £1 shop has done well out of me this year!
