Urgent cake decorating crisis - please advise!

I'm in the middle of making a cake for a friend, but suddenly she has to postpone the party.

The cake is chocolate sponge, with non-dairy chocolate buttercream filling, covered with marzipan. I haven't done the icing yet.

Can I freeze the cake as it is? I know that the sponge and buttercream freezer perfectly well, but what about the marzipaning - will it be OK?

Also, the cake is fixed on a cakeboard - do I have to lever it off (in which case, will it survive?) or can I freeze it on the board?

Please help!

you can def freeze on the board and marzipan should be fine

I would cover it in foil then put it in a freezer bag on the board. I reckon it will be fine
