how about a nice sketchpad from the Tate?

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 14/02/2009 22:47

I've just bought one for my DD for her birthday. Its just an excuse, I can't wait to do it. I really annoyed a friend's boy the other week when we were at his house and I insisted on "helping" him with his.

BuckBuckMcFate · 14/02/2009 22:47

I second Guiness book of Records

They have proved to be a hit with DS1 (12) and his friends for the past 3 years

Lovetingles2 · 14/02/2009 22:49

well in that case SKSS this one is good, theres a Roman one too
oh we've had them all!

surreylady · 14/02/2009 22:57

Ds turned 10 this week - one of his presents was Top Gear books - he is not a car fan at all - but he loves them - finds the facts really interesting - there was an annual type one and a diary type one. Guiness Book of records he liked too but more an 8 year old than 10 for us. He is also into Philip Pullman and Darren Shan.

Lovetingles2 · 14/02/2009 23:00

Lovetingles2 · 14/02/2009 23:02

My 9.5 yo would like:

Lego (star Wars for choice but it's dear; Indiana Jones and pirate/knight also acceptable)

Nintendo DS games

books (that's my choice for him really )

Match Attax

Chocolate (these last 2 we got for a pal of his - suggestion from the mother and went down well!)

He also has enjoyed
20Q (fab toy)
Guinness bk of rec yy
games like Boggle, Whoonu, chess, Pass the Bomb
