WHAT!!!!!!!!! TSM you haven't been wearing that dress everyday and every night since your wedding????

whitenoise · 11/02/2009 11:00

noooooooooo you can't sell your dress!!!

Tillyscoutsmum · 11/02/2009 11:57

T42 - do you reckon it could be the elusive school run dress ?? Not sure it fits the criteria

Tbh - I loved my dress but at the moment, it is hanging in my spare room doing nothing and I would much rather someone else got some use out of it rather than it go to waste

Besides, when I put all the weight I lost back on, I don't want it reminding me that I used to be slim (ish)

whitenoise · 11/02/2009 13:04

btw tilly i got married same day as you but please don't out me

realised you may think i am a weird stalker type

Tillyscoutsmum · 11/02/2009 13:10

I did wonder who you were Hello there

teafortwo · 11/02/2009 19:47

My wedding ring was first bought for my husband's Great Grandmother. In each generation since it has been warn by a woman in the family to show they are married. At night I fiddle with my wedding ring and wonder about the weddings and marriages before ours and I wish, somehow, that the women of previous generations had written down a bit about their lives and marriages. As I feel the ring somehow connects us all.

This has really got me thinking about TSMs dress...

I think we should have a thread called 'The Red Wedding Dress' where TSM writes about how the dress nearly wasn't delivered but then was (phew) and about her fantastic day. Next you, Lucysmam, can write about your wedding. Then when you've finished with your dress you should sell it to another mner and they should sell it to another and another and so on and so on until it has been so loved and so used it ends up being given and used as fancy dress for a wild student party or maybe lastly dressing up clothes for someone's dd who can prance around in a too big dress pretending she is a princess!!!

Each mner should record what she does and... hey presto mn have their seventh book - thanks to TSM and lucysmam!!!

Ha ha ha!!! Great, hey?

Tillyscoutsmum · 11/02/2009 20:21

I like it T42 Suppose you'll want royalties now ?!

Oooh - can I have it back at the end for dd to prance around in. The book can be called "The Red Wedding Dress - full circle"... or something (much wittier hopefully)

That's lovely about your wedding ring though

teafortwo · 11/02/2009 21:01

Yes and no - The thing is with the wedding ring I have never known anyone who had it before me - just that there were stories before not what they are.

The red wedding dress - Now - that could be great because you can really 'know' each other.

lucysmam · 12/02/2009 09:22

lol teafortwo, good idea! It's a shame you don't know anything about anyone who had the ring before you, would be interesting

Tsm, my oh is off out in an hour so will mail you back then
