Want to make a Postman Pat cake for DS who will be 2!!

I was planning on making a tray bake type sponge (two of them) and jamming them together - I have downloaded a template of a van shape, so will need to do red icing for that!!

I can do all that!

But I need to put Jess and Postman pat in the van - how do I do that - any ideas or can I buy something??!!

May go for cutting out pictures of them to stick on (and not eat!!)

I made a van. Just baked a sandwich tin sponge, so I had a rectangular base. Red butter icing. some gel pen type things from tescos/sainsburys and drew on picture of jess and pat.
shame I haven't a picture.It was quite easy.

what about just using plastic figures like the ones that come with the toy van

i made a mad lighting macqueen a couple of years ago - ds2's 4th b/day - i did the car and everything on it from bought coloured roll-out icing - found you a link!. I traced a picture onto greaseproof then just rolled out the icing and marked it through. Really easy. That way you could get PP and Jess on the front of the van, and maybe some windows on the side?
