Party bags for 8 year old girls

Hi,
My DD1 is 8 today but her party is next week. I was wondering what can I give to 8 year old girls as party bag. Any one has any ideas?

Stationary and claires accessories stuff is the usual. Is it themed?

No its not theme, but I didn't want to give nothing that cannot be used. I thought books, but it might be a little bit expensive.
Any more ideas?

Little sparkly hair bobbles, beady bracelets, mini lip glosses, miniature notepads and pencils.

What sidge said or if your heart is set on books you can pick paperbacks up resonably cheap, exspecially if they are in a set which you could seperate IYKWIM. Not sure 8 yo would be overly impressed with books tho?

My dd would be very happy with hair slides or similar or girls make up from somewhere like Claires.

(I put satsumas in mine and the kids loved them!!)

Thank you all for the ideas, and I think you are correct. I don't think the would be too keen on books. I think the hair bobbles or stationery will be. Now I just have to find the time to go and buy all of them.
