Would you let your 12/13 yo go to a party in pub function room?

I'm just looking at venues for dsds 13th birthday and have found a function room above a pub. How would you feel about your dc going? It will be on a Sunday early evening (finishing at 9.30ish I think) so it shouldn't be too busy, and it is a nice foody pub.

What do you think?

If it's very local to you and the other parents will know it's a nice place then I can't see why they'd object. Perhaps a note on the invite saying it's soft drinks only.

It is quite local to us but not sure all the parents would know it. I would have thought it went without saying that it would only be soft drinks but maybe it would help to reassure parents.

What does anyone else think? I'd hate for her not to have a lot of friends there.

I recently let my 5 year old dd go to another 5 y.o's party at a local working men's club (admittedly in the afternoon rather than the evening). Not the slightest problem with it. I think if other parents are trusting you with the care of their children then they have to trust your judgement about the suitability of the venue.
