christening favours

dd's christening is Sunday and I want to make some favours to thank people for coming.

I have bought some organza bags (pink with butterflies on) but am at a loss as to what to put in them.

am avoiding almonds, considered pink and white marshmallows (but have veggie guests).

so what can I use....??

Any ideas please

p.s. 40+ guests so need to be fairly cheap reasonably priced.

I was going to suggest the sugar coated, pastel coloured almonds but I see you want to avoid those.

We've also had chocolate coated in the same pastel coloured coating, the same size and shape as the almonds.

Maybe find a good local sweet shop that sells sweets by the quarter and see what they have? They'll hopefully give you a discount if you buy a huge jar!

oops sorry missed the reasonabley priced part! are they mostly adults or are lots of kids coming?

NorbertDentressangle · 01/12/2008 11:06

If you google "sweet shop" there are loads of on-line companies that sell every sweet you could possibly imagine (I started looking for the ones I mentioned in my post but got caught up in drooling at the retro sweets )

Thanks for the replies. It's mostly adults coming, only 2 kids under 10.

I'm worried I might have left it a bit late to order online.

Good idea about an old fashioned sweet shop, will have to trek out and have a look.

What about tags? Should I do a "Thank you for coming love dd" to attach to each?

Have you seen this site The Favour Gallery. www.thefavourgallery.co.uk? They have the most AMAZING favours for christenings!!! I bought little blue sachets for my sons christening... but I see that they do lots more since I ordered!! They are beautiful! They say they take a few weeks to order.. but I also left it late and they managed to get them to me in a few days as they had other orders coming in!!! Have a look at their site... its wonderful. www.thefavourgallery.co.uk

forgot to say.... they do tags too... but they are not on their site yet... they told me about them when I called and they were just what I wanted!
