We do a good treasure hunt with simple pictures on post it notes, you give them then first and they have to find the next 'clue' keeps my 2.9 yr old amused for ages.

What sort of pictures/ Would a picture of a cat and then they have to find a picture of a dog work? or is that too boring?

No, I draw pictures of household objects, so a picture of the door with an arrow to the letterbox, thena postit in the letterbox with a picture of teh washing machine, then in teh machine a pic of the buggy etc etc, can keep DD1 running around for ages while I snigger, although I can't get her to tell the difference between the fridge and trhe back door, my drawing is not good!
