Hi. Am going to order off party pieces.co.uk

DD wants pony plates and they have gorgeous one on their web site. She has 14 girls coming and 9 boys. The plates have lime green and pink in them and are girly but wondering what to do for the boys.

I was worried ordering 2 different sets for boys and girls as how would I lay the table, not knowing where everyone will sit so would get confusing.

Now come to the idea of 8 pony plates, 8 bright pink plates, 8 lime green plates with the same amount of cups and napkins and swapping them all around so one pony plate will have a lime napkin and pink cup etc.

Sorry quite confusing but is this still too girly? Will the boys moan?

How old are the kids? This will have a large baring.
Sorry not had chance to check out the site, but anything cowboy related? Sticks with the pony theme, perhaps you could do both pony and cowboy plates, with a neutral, 8,8,8, lay the table as you said, but be sure to have spares incase of sulks, strops and tantrums.
Good luck!

DS (almost 6) would only baulk at the pink plate - but would love cowboys or knights. Does that help ?

Horse-related stuff for boys is really hard to find - I have tried!

Hi. I have it sorted now. I was going to do the cowboy theme for boys but I remember doing seperate themes last year and it was a pain because they all bundled to the table and of course didnt want to sit where I had put the plates.

So I have decided pony plates for girls with pony table clothes and lime green plates and cups for boys. The children are 5 and 6, if one of them gets a strop then then tuff!!!!

DS is having a Cowboys & Indians Party this weekend. 20 kids (mostly girls). Yellow tablecloths with red napkins and I'm taking the easy route and assembling the food in advance into individual red party food boxes. I don't think the kids will care too much about the tableware (at least I don't think my crew of 4/5 yr olds will) plus you can save money here and spend more on the food/prizes. This is the first time we've done a class party at a local hall and I'm amazed how much you can potentially spend on 'stuff' if you're not keeping an eye on the costs.
