I'm having a halloween party for similar ages so really just bumping to steal some ideas. Things I've thought of so far are

  • hunt the (chocolate) eyeball - either hide in the garden if the weather is good or maybe in a bucket of polystrene packing stuff if the weather's bad. Don't think I can face them rampaging round the whole house
  • craft activity, thinking I might cut out pumpkins in orange paper or cats in black and have bits to stick on to decorate
  • maybe pin the nose on the witch, not sure that I have the talent and energy to draw a witch though.

Nigella Lawson Feast book has some ideas for food, eg black spaghetti = witch's hair, I need to borrow it from my sister.

DOughnut eating (I don't know why this is a halloween tradition but it was when I was a kid) - tie doughnuts on string, suspend from line across room and kids have to eat doughnuts without using their hands.

THis will of course not work for people with PFBs who aren;t allowed sugar...
